Terms of Service
Last updated 28 October 2026
The short version: Ammonia is free and comes with no guarantees. Don't use it to hurt people or attack websites, and don't try to break it. If you misuse it, you can be banned from it.
Agreeing to these terms
By adding Ammonia to your account or server, or by using any of its commands, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. You also have to follow Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, don't use Ammonia.
What Ammonia is
Ammonia is a free hobby project made and run by satu. It isn't a company, and there's no paid version. It can change, lose features or go offline at any time, with or without warning.
Using it fairly
When you use Ammonia, you agree not to:
- use its network and website tools, like
/net,/safetyor/utility screenshot, against websites or servers you don't have permission to test, or to attack, flood or scan anyone; - use it to harass, threaten or impersonate people, or to post hateful, sexual or illegal content;
- spam its commands, or try to get around its cooldowns and limits;
- try to break it, exploit bugs, or make it reach things it isn't meant to;
- scan files with
/virustotalthat you aren't allowed to share, since VirusTotal shares submitted files with its community.
Content from other places
A lot of what Ammonia shows comes from somewhere else: random old websites, live radio stations, archived pages, unwatched videos and a meme video archive. None of that is made or checked by Ammonia. It can be strange, outdated, or occasionally upsetting. Some commands, like /fun meme, warn you before showing anything, but you use these commands at your own risk.
Moderation commands
Commands like kick, ban, timeout and clear only work for people Discord already allows to do those things. Whoever runs a moderation command is responsible for using it. Ammonia just carries it out.
Being banned from Ammonia
Anyone who breaks these terms, or uses Ammonia in a way that causes problems, can be banned from using it, for a while or permanently. This is at the owner's discretion and doesn't need a warning first.
No warranty
Ammonia is provided as is, without any warranty. It might be wrong, slow, broken or offline. Results from tools like /safety linkcheck and /virustotal are best guesses and not a guarantee that something is safe.
As far as the law allows, satu isn't responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using Ammonia, including lost messages, server changes made with moderation commands, or anything you see or download through it.
The code
Ammonia's source code is public on Tianjo under its own license. That license covers what you can do with the code. These terms cover using the bot that satu runs.
Changes
These terms can be updated at any time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using Ammonia after a change, you agree to the new version.
Contact
Questions about these terms can go to the Ammonia repository on Tianjo, or to satu on Discord.
